Bill is one of Atlanta’s best-known and respected money managers. He was Co-founder and Chairman (1970-1982) of Atlanta Capital Management, directing its growth into one of the largest investment-counseling firms in the Southeast. In 1982, Mr. Astrop formed Astrop Advisory Corporation, which later became a pioneer in the management of portfolios using no-load mutual funds.

Mr. Astrop has appeared on CNN and CNBC and has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business Daily and the Atlanta Journal and Constitution.

Mr. Astrop is a graduate of the University of Richmond and received his MBA in finance from the Harvard Business School, where he was a recipient of the J. Spencer Love Fellowship for Academic Achievement. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and was a member of the New York Stock Exchange from 1981-2003 and the American Stock Exchange from 1998-2000. He is currently a member of the New York Mercantile Exchange and is also a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and the Atlanta Financial Analysts Association.

Mr. Astrop was a Lt. Commander in the active U.S. Navy Reserve and is currently a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He is a former Board Chairman of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, a former Trustee of the National Boys & Girls Clubs of America and a former Board Member of the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University in Atlanta.

Bowen graduated with a B.A. from the University of Southern California. He joined Astrop Advisory Corporation in 1997, during his final year in the MBA program at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.  Prior to joining Astrop Advisory, he worked in the film and television industries on such productions as Driving Miss Daisy and The Perfect Tribute.

Doug graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University and received his MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.  He joined Astrop Advisory Corporation in 2005, after nearly two years as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch and seven years as an executive in the entertainment industry for companies such as EMI-Capitol Music and Twentieth Century Fox.  He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, a Certified Investment Management Analyst and an accomplished composer/pianist who has released several independent recordings of his original music.
